CATCH THAT CAT!
PART ONE: THE POTION PROBLEM
BY LAYLA AHMED
One sunny day, Professor Hamilton was in his lab. Suddenly, he heard someone knocking on the door. He got up from his chair, and opened the door. His brother, Hardis, was standing outside, holding Professor Hamilton's nephew, Harper, in his hands. "Oh, hello Hardis..." said Professor Hamilton. "Hello Harry!" said Hardis happily. "Sorry to bother you, but can you look after Harper for me please?" asked Hardis. "I need to go to an important modelling show now, and Heila went to visit her sister." explained Hardis. Hamilton hesitated for a moment, but then said, "Sure! I'll look after Harper." Harper meowed at Hamilton. "Thanks!" said Hardis, shoving Harper into Professor Hamilton's hands and closing the door. Hamilton looked at Harper. He didn't know much about children, because he never had one. "Well, then, I guess it's time for your nap, Harper!" said Professor Hamilton. He carried Harper to his and Hermione's bedroom. He put Harper on the bed and covered him with a blanket. "Go to sleep, now..." said Hamilton, leaving the room. Harper looked around. "Hehe..." he said, getting up. He jumped out of the bed, and left the room. He saw that Hamilton went to make some coffee for himself in the kitchen, so he avoided that room. He saw the door to the lab room was open, so he crawled in, ignoring the signs that said "KEEP OUT!" He saw all the glowing and bubbling potions all over the room, and the plans and instructions stuck to the grey walls. When he was walking past one of the tables, his tail accidentally knocked down one of the potions. The glass bottle fell to the floor and smashed into a million pieces, and the glowing purple mixture spilled all over the floor. "Oops..." said Harper, walking away like nothing happened. The crashing noise must of caught Professor Hamilton's attention, because Harper heard footsteps approaching. Harper had reached the center of the room, where a big cauldron stood over a small fire. Harper jumped up and looked into the pot. He was amazed. The glowing green potion looked beautiful. Harper heard Hamilton come through the door, and quickly leaped into the potion. Professor Hamilton approached the cauldron and put his hands in. He grabbed Harper and pulled him out. "HARPER, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? GET OUT!" shouted Hamilton. Harper didn't look to good. He was turning green. "Meow..." he said weakly. Then suddenly...
KABLAM!
Harper was now wearing a red cape, and had gone very strong. He punched Hamilton in the face. "OW!" shouted Hamilton in pain. He fell to the floor, groaning. "MWAHAHA!" laughed Harper. "Its all going how I planned..." said Harper.
