CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO: A HELPING HAND
Uncle Hamilton ran as far as he could. He didn’t stop, not once. When he felt like he was about to collapse, he saw the border. He leaped through the border and ran through the portal. He fell out of Harper’s cupboard and fell on his bed. Uncle Hamilton stood up, breathing heavily. He looked back at the cupboard. He quickly started pushing things in front of the cupboard, so if Harper ever came back, he would be trapped. Uncle Hamilton knew he could not do this on his own, so he decided to get some help. He first ran to their neighbours, George Apple and his two teenage sons, Fred and Tom. He quickly explained to them what had happened. At first they didn’t believe it, but then Fred and Tom agreed to help. George decided to go too. He told them to get everybody they knew that was eager to help him. An hour later, they came back with Hilter and Hilda Hamilton, who were actually secret spies, even though Hilter was a farmer and Hilda was a mechanic. They also came back with Mr. Macaroni, who was Fred and Tom’s mad English teacher. They came back with Mr. HiggyFiggle, who was at home wondering where his wife was, and they also came back with Mrs. Fluffyface, Hardis’s work colleague, who was secretly a mad witch. This was not the best team to fight Harper, but at least they were helping Uncle Hamilton.
